Select the transformer according to the service environment

 

Under normal medium conditions, an oil-immersed transformer or dry-type transformer can be selected. In multi-story or high-rise main buildings, noncombustible or flame-retardant power transformers should be selected. In places where dust or corrosive gases seriously affect the safe operation of transformers, closed or sealed power transformers shall be selected.

 

Select the transformer according to the power load

 

Generally, the capacity of the power transformer recommended in the GB / T 17468-2019 guide for the selection of power transformer shall be selected. The capacity of the dry-type transformer shall generally be determined according to GB / T 1094.12-2013 guide for a load of the dry-type power transformer and calculated load.

 

Understand the insulation level

 

Insulation grade refers to the heat-resistant grade of insulating materials used in electrical equipment. Insulating materials can be divided into 7 grades according to their heat-resistant degree, and their temperature rise limits are also different. The insulation grade of common power transformers is between A and H, the insulation grade of oil-immersed transformers is generally A, and the insulation grade of dry-type transformers is generally F or H.

 

No-load loss

 

No-load loss refers to the active power consumed through the line terminal of one winding when the rated voltage at the rated frequency is applied to the terminal of one winding and the other windings are open circuits. Load loss refers to the active power consumed at rated frequency and reference temperature when the rated current flows through the line terminal of one winding and the other winding is short-circuited.
